Lewisville-Clemmons Community Grants

We will be offering a virtual Grants Briefing and Information Session specifically for each grant opportunity. The session for the Lewisville-Clemmons Community Grants will be held virtually using Zoom on Monday, October 3 at 10:00 a.m. when the grant application portal opens. Mary Alice Warren Community Center Programming Grants

Grants for up to $2,500 are available for nonprofits to provide affordable and accessible programming at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center.

The grant application deadline is Monday, March 11th, at 5pm.

If you are unsure if your proposed program fits, please contact Program Officer Greg Keener at greg@shallowfordfoundation.org to discuss your concept before beginning an application.

Proposed program criteria:

• Must be held on-site at the  Mary Alice Warren Community Center. Details on the Center and available space can be found online here.
• The program can be a one-time event or a series. Proposals requesting the maximum award amount of $2,500 should be for multi-part programs or series.
• Programs can require paid registration or be offered free of charge.
• Schedule for programs must be coordinated with the  Community Center on a day/time which meets their capacity but be held before December 31st, 2024.
• Applications must be submitted by a nonprofit organization, not an individual.
• Organizations must agree and adhere to all facility use policies and requirements of the Community Center.
• The presenting nonprofit organization must supply any materials needed for the program. The Community Center can provide tables and chairs for programming and audio/visual connections for presentations. Coordination of the use of Community Center resources is the responsibility of the presenting organization.
• A plan for promoting the proposed event should be included in the proposal. The Shallow Ford Foundation and the Community Center will offer some assistance in promoting all grant-funded events.

Applicant organizations must be classified as one of the following:

• IRS registered organizations with a letter determination as tax-exempt 501(c)(3) (excluding 509(a) private foundations); registered and licensed to solicit in the state of North Carolina; and providing programs and services in the targeted geographic area.
• Governmental or quasi-governmental agency.
• An organization must have existed for at least three years (based on the date of the IRS determination letter) and have achieved a record of effective service and sustainability.

Organizations must also have a current Charitable Solicitation License or exemption from the Secretary of State. Details on this requirement can be found online here.
