Community Initiatives

Our communities’ first responders are local unsung heroes who routinely sacrifice personal and family time to protect, comfort and save the lives of individuals and property in times of emergency and crisis.

Most difficult for these men and women is serving “on duty” during major holidays as these individuals are unable to enjoy the traditional festivities of families and friends. Their sacrifice is often unrecognized, but deeply appreciated throughout the community.

Who are our first responders?  Those who drop everything to respond “first” when we call for help - fire, rescue, law enforcement, and supporting services.

Thanks to an action learning team of the 2019-2020 Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons, an initiative launched Christmas Day 2019 called “Feast for First Responders” wherein the team organized a feast and festivities for all Clemmons, Lewisville, and Vienna on-duty first responders and their families.

The 2019 feast honored first responders on the most difficult service days of the year.  Other activities honoring our first responders will be explored and considered.
