Most human service resources are based in Winston-Salem, which can be a 20-minute car ride to reach from Clemmons and Lewisville.
We have few place-based services, a growing number of individuals with a need for information and services, and no way to easily navigate the services here and elsewhere available to residents. Service needs include elder services, behavioral health services and addiction prevention and recovery programs, services for those with a disability, and other services. Some have asked whether it is time to consider creating a family resource center. The Clemmons Community Foundation is exploring this question with several individuals and groups and has submitted a proposal for consideration by an Action Learning Team of the 2019 LWS Class to assist in the feasibility research and recommendation.
