Mason H. Hunter Vocational Educational Scholarship of the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce

Up to $2,500 towards a 2-year program of study leading to a degree or certification in any trade, technical, or vocational field.

Amount:  Up to $2,500 towards tuition, books, fees, and other related course expenses for up to a 2-year program of study leading to a degree or certification in any trade, technical, or vocational field with a clear career pathway.

Purpose: The Mason H. Hunter Vocational Educational Scholarship of the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce honors the life of Mason H. Hunter, who passed away unexpectedly in March 2018 at the age of 17. This scholarship will benefit area students seeking to continue vocational and occupational education and training. Scholarship recipients may enjoy additional benefits including opportunity for Chamber member mentors, internships, references, and employment introductions and leads depending on the occupational goal and the engagement of the student.

Criteria: Eligible applicants must be a graduating high school senior or equivalent or recent (within a year) graduate of West Forsyth, Reagan, or North Davidson High School and be enrolled (or planning on enrolling) in at least six credit hours of education at a community college.  Those enrolled or intending to enroll in full-time post-secondary education are preferred. Consideration is given to students who are active in community service, hobbies, sports, clubs, work experience, and other examples of community participation.
